Seattle Seafair Weekend

All Day Festival of Fun Activities and Events | Annually July & August

The annual Seafair summer festival is returning to the Puget Sound from Late July to Aug. 5-7 and will feature a weekend full of festivities, including the unlimited hydro races and U.S. Navy Blue Angels air shows. Thousands of attendees are expected to pack the areas along the Lake Washington shoreline, including Mercer Island. Great locations to enjoy the event locally include Aubrey Davis Park, Groveland Beach Park, and areas along the north end of the island. Early arrival is key to finding parking and the city asks people to watch for pedestrian traffic.

INTERACTIVE EXHIBITS AND ACTIVITIES

If Lake Washington hosts all the action on the water, then Genesee Park is the place for fun on land. This year Seafair has added more games, more entertainment, more everything!

Military Exhibits

The military returns with free flight simulators, climbing walls and the opportunity to compete in a chin up contest against a highly trained U.S. Marine.

Kids Zone

The Kids Zone is also back! stband gets you in for the fun all day. Seafair will have inflatable rides, jumpers and games, certain to keep the whole gang going.

Hydroplanes 101

How fast can a race boat go? What makes a hydroplane fly? What makes a turbine engine work? How many “G’s” does a driver feel in a turn? These and many other questions will be answered at the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum’s Hydro’s 101 Exhibit. Boat racing is applied science and math at it most exciting.
Hydros 101 teaches the fundamentals of boat racing, while also showing how ,math, science and engineering play an important in building and racing hydroplanes.
With the 1975 Oh Boy Oberto and the 2009 U-787 on display, Hydros 101 illustrates 4 decades of racing innovation and evolution.
