Annual Tacoma City Marathon
– presented at starts at the Tacoma Narrows Airport – Gig Harbor, Washington
7:00 AM to 8:00 AM | Saturday & Sunday | Last Weekend in April
The Tacoma City Marathon is a scenic point to point net downhill course. Starting at the Tacoma Narrows Airport. Crossing the Tacoma Narrows Bridge will experience first the greatness of Puget Sound and views Mt. Rainier. After the short ascent off the Narrows Bridge you will be treated to easy rolling terrain through North Tacoma’s Proctor District, a new home for Fleet Feet Sports and ends on the Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, Washington.
The course then gradually descends through Ruston to beautiful Pt. Defiance Park leading runners through landscape sheltered by 100 year old growth trees. Then after the rolling hills of Pt Defiance runners are able to finish fast on the flats of the Tacoma Waterfront. With a new finish venue of the Tacoma Art Museum, runners enter the city through Dock Street and loop around for their big finish down Pacific Avenue into the Tacoma Art Museum. This course really magnifies the beauty of the Narrows Bridge, the personality and amenities of the City of Tacoma.
