Invite your family and friends and head over to Coney Island to watch the annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting contest (or participate in it yourself!). Amateur sculptors compete in five categories and both adults and kids will be building. Artists and leaders from the Coney Island community will serve as judges. You can enjoy a day full of entertainment and vendors will have tables set up as well.

The Annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Contest brings together individuals, families and artists to celebrate a fun filled day with the Coney Island community. Professional artists will build remarkable sculptures while amateurs from within the community and across the region will challenge each other for cash prizes. It will be a family-friendly and fun-filled day with live entertainment, exciting giveaways and activities for children. This annual event frequently attracts local and national press as well as 3,000-4,000 visitors from the community and across the country.

Get ready to witness some amazing sand creations at this year’s event where winners in each category can win up to $500!

Anyone who pre-registers must be on-site and checked in by 10:45 AM. Starting at 11 AM all mounds are open to the public to register the day of.
