Fiesta La Ballona – Culver Festival

The Annual Fiesta La Ballona, Culver City’s annual “Party in the Park” during the 4th Weekend in August. The Festival features a full three-day weekend featuring live performances from local music artists, food and wine with a beer garden, wine garden, food trucks, a covered food court with street and fair food. The whole family will enjoy the petting zoo and the kids will love the pony rides, carnival rides and the sustainability activities and games for all ages. The Fiesta La Ballona festival presents awards, contest and special events that highlight local talented artists with a spotlight for their artisan wares, artwork, crafts and more with over 100 market booths. carnival rides and games
The City of Culver City’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and the Fiesta La Ballona Committee organize and produce Fiesta along with help from scores of volunteers. Information can also be found by liking the event on Facebook, following it on Twitter, or viewing it on YouTube. A program guide, which includes a map of the event and all scheduled activities, will be also be available at Fiesta La Ballona.

6:00 PM | Silent Partner – Indie Rock Silent Partner is a teen indie rock band from West Los Angeles. Band members Jack Shassberger, Gabe Sarnoff, Jake Pavlica, Jesse Pruitt, and Tobias Raskin built a strong social media following by uploading their first original song, ‘Gone Away,’ on SoundCloud. |
6:40 PM | Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Jazz Combo – Jazz/Blues The Jazz Combo of the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts is a component of Culver City High School’s Pink Elephant Music Company. They perform at community events such as Culver City Education Foundation’s annual “Sip For Our Schools” and “Tribute the Stars” events. They play jazz standards and blues numbers, and are directed by Dr. Tony Spano and Dr. David Brennan. |
7:20 PM | Searchlights – Indie Rock The band plays primarily indie rock, covering songs the members know and love, while also branching out in their own writing to create inventive compositions. Searchlights has been playing for about three months now, and is excited to play its first show here at Fiesta La Ballona. |
8:00 PM | State of Panic – Punk Rock State Of Panic is a punk rock revivalist group from Los Angeles featuring a blend of influences from classics like The Ramones and The Sex Pistols and contemporary bands like Green Day and My Chemical Romance. The band packs a powerful punch with Aidan McLain on guitar and lead vocals, Henry Gross on lead guitar, Haki Daniels on drums and newly added Cyrus Payne on bass. |
8:40 PM | Below 51 – Alternative/Punk Rock Based in Culver City, CA, Below 51 is a punk rock band featuring Francisco De La Cruz on guitar/vocals, Roy Ramos on guitar/vocals, Diego Andres on bass/vocals, and Sam Noonan on drums. The band has played multiple venues on the Sunset Strip and various festivals. |
