Arizona State Fair
Thursday – Sunday | September 20 – October 27, 2024
Agriculture and the arts come together on the fairgrounds of Encanto Village outside of Phoenix for the annual Arizona State Fair. A staple of the fair, frybread (a deep-fried plate of dough) is offered by local chef’s through-out the fair grounds, each with its own unique ingredients on this Arizona classic. And, the famous red velvet funnel cake is always available for the traditional take on cake.
Another crowd please at this fair is the Thunderbird Model Railroad Club – The group sets up a miniature train track that runs more than 1,200 feet. Watch as the motorized locomotives speed around the scaled town, then head over to a different kind of race at the Great American Duck Races, where Mallards zoom along the water.
Insider Tip: There’s free, less congested parking at the State Capitol with a free shuttle to the entrance of the fair.
