The Sundance NEXT FEST, 4-Day Summer Festival
presented by Sundance Institute opens on Aug 7-10, 2014 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery and continues at the Ace Hotel – Los Angeles.
Fueled by the renegade spirit of independent artists, Sundance NEXT FEST is a new breed of festival experience celebrating the intersection of music and film. The Sundance NEXT FEST kicks off with an outdoor screening of a classic Sundance film with a 10th Anniversary screening of Napoleon Dynamite hosted by Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. And then, continues through the weekend with the Los Angeles premieres of six new films at the historic Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles. Each film marked by unfettered creativity is paired with either a special music performance that embodies a shared artistic sensibility, or a conversation that brings together filmmakers with those who inspired them. All the films first screened at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, and offer unique and fresh perspectives to art of film making. The weekend lineup features a zombie love story, an Iranian-set vampire movie, a modern tale of buried treasure, a thriller about a mysterious soldier, and films that explore the perils of artistic ambition amongst gang life in Watts and the literary world of New York respectively.
